I was invited to help work the MTV HP Engine room booth in Las Vegas this last week by the amazing folks at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. We took head shots of volunteers then I digitally gave them a make over. Here's a few. It was a lot of fun! Initially I didn't think that I'd like working in public at a fast pace - many people assumed I was running an automated program that altered the faces - some were actually disappointed to learn it was only Photoshop.
I over heard one guy say, "He's cheating though - look at his Wacom tablet."
Ah well. There's always a few odd folks.
But there were a lot of generally interested folks who'd ask questions about my process and would stand behind me or sit on the floor for 10 sometimes 30 minutes. Those curious folks definitely made it worth while and were so fun to talk to.
Sharing the same table with the talented duo Misha Kline and Liz Allen (animator and illustrator) softened the alien experience considerably. I'm blown away by how fast they were able to set up and get underway - a slight taste of their work (sorry - not even slight - unfortunately it's a single photo) can be seen at this link.
Had a blast!
